Amanda created a fundraiser to raise money and awareness for the devastating oil spill off the coast of Mauritius. Mauritius is rich in biodiversity due to the coral reefs, mangrove trees and seagrasses. A Japanese ship, the MV WAkashio was holding about 4,000 tonnes of fuel when it ran into the reef on July 25th, 2020. She is selling these watercolor paintings of oil spills and 50% of the proceeds will go to Eco-Sud. Eco-Sud is a non-governmental organization for the island that focuses on protecting the environment and biodiversity.
